Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Review [Video]: A Camera Delight in a Budget

Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 5 on February 14 as the next variant to its top-selling smartphone in India, the Redmi Note 4. Alongside, the company pushed the global debut of a step-up variant named Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro at a starting price of Rs 13,999. While most of the specifications amongst the two are pretty much the same, the two major areas where the Redmi Note 5 Pro towers over the Redmi Note 5 are the camera capabilities and the processor. As per Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the Qualcomm’s recently launched chipset, the Snapdragon 636. In the camera department, the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a dual camera setup at the back with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for the depth effect. At the front, the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with AI capabilities for a similar depth effect as delivered by the cameras at the back.
