Chinese smartphone major Oppo advertises itself as the “Camera Phone” brand and is on mission to deliver the best front camera to selfie lovers. While Apple introduced the blur effect with the Portrait mode and rear dual lens in the iPhone 7 Plus, Oppo wants to deliver the same bokeh effect on the front camera.
The major highlight of the Oppo F3 Plus is its dual front camera (16MP + 8MP, 120-degree wide-angle) along with the rear Camera (16 MP, f/1.7) with a customized IMX 398 sensor co-developed with Sony.
While the device is poised to be a selfie lover’s delight is the Oppo F3 Plus a good overall smartphone for the price of Rs 30,990? Let’s find out.

The Oppo F3 plus offers a good metal build along with a simplistic design. While the rear of the device will remind of the iPhone 6S Plus, the front looks very similar to the Google Pixel XL. But none of these top-end smartphone have got dual lens front camera which tries to offer D-SLR-like selfies.
Oppo has done a good job in making the 6-inch F3 Plus smartphone look compact. There is a fingerprint sensor on the front of the device which is pretty quick. There is decent single speaker arrangement at the bottom along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Oppo F3 Plus comes with a 6-inch JDI incell display with Full HD resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display quality is good and offers decent sunlight readability. Also, the screen doesn’t attract smudges or fingerprints easily.

Coming to the camera quality of the Oppo F3 Plus, the device offers excellent selfies under good lighting conditions. It also comes with a screen flash feature (first introduced in iPhone 6S) to brighten selfies taken under low light. Overall, this is no doubt one of the best selfie phones. It would have been great if Oppo would have added a LED Flash in the front as well.
The 16MP rear camera is capable of producing good images. With “Expert Mode” users have the flexibility to shoot as per their requirements.
The 4,000mAh battery easily lasts a day and most average users can squeeze 36 hours of battery life. Also, VOOC Flash Charge helps in charging the mammoth 4,000mAh battery quickly.
The Oppo F3 Plus smartphone is powered by a 1.95 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device supports microSD cards of up to 256GB. It runs Android 6.0-based ColorOS 3.0 interface. Overall, the phone is made to cater to the needs of power users and delivers well on multitasking front as well.
The handsets supports Reliance Jio VoLTE for both voice and data.

While the Oppo F3 Plus looks compact, it is heavy at 185 grams. Users with small hands will find it difficult to tackle the device. While the camera of the Oppo F3 Plus is one of the best in the Rs 30,000 segment, the interface is heavily borrowed from iOS. Oppo already has enough to flaunt and it really shouldn’t aim to be an iPhone look-alike from the inside.
If you are into a lot of selfies and want a perfect smartphone to flaunt yourself on social media than the Oppo F3 Plus is ideal choice. While smartphone brands mostly focus on the rear camera, the Oppo F3 Plus differs with dual lens front camera for providing “D-SLR-like” selfies. It is no doubt one of the best selfie camera smartphones for Rs 30,990. Apart from the camera performance, the Oppo F3 Plus manages to offer a pleasing overall experience. However, when it comes to flaunting a smartphone for the price of Rs 30,000, the Honor 8 or OnePlus 3T is definitely more appealing.
