The Moto G series of smartphones have always set a benchmark in the budget sub-Rs 15,000 category every year. Starting right from the first-gen Moto G, which was launched in 2013, the Moto G aimed at offering the best of pure Android experience. The Moto G5 Plus, this time, has taken the budget smartphone competition to the next level.
The Moto G5 Plus 3GB RAM + 16GB internal storage variant will retail at for Rs 14,999 while the 4GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant will be available for Rs 16,999 on Flipkart starting February 16.
Flipkart has also announced a free buyback scheme under which if a buyer purchases the Moto G5 Plus now and wants to upgrade their smartphone with another Moto device they will get a discount of Rs 7,000.

The company has announced Moto G5 Plus launch offers that include an additional Rs 1,500 discount on exchange and there is an additional 10 percent discount on SBI cards; no-cost EMIs starting at Rs 1,889 a month, and the Moto Pulse 2 headset at a discounted price of Rs 599.
While the first three Moto G phones shared an almost similar design philosophy, the look changed a bit with the fourth-gen Moto G handset last year.
The all-new fifth Moto G5 Plus, however, is a complete face-lift. It looks nothing like the older Moto G phones. In fact, the design is inspired by the newer Moto Z series smartphones. And it looks better than the Moto M, which comes for a similar price. This is the first Moto G smartphone to feature a full-metal body.

Lenovo-owned Moto with the new Moto G5 Plus smartphones aims to deliver the same rich pure Android experience with nifty software tweaks with a tried-and-tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
Running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, the Moto G5 Plus offers Google Assistant out-of-the-box, thanks to Google. The new Moto G5 Plus offers a good build quality, bigger and better fingerprint sensor while retaining the microUSB port and 3.5mm earphone jack.
The Moto G5 Plus is a dual-SIM smartphone dnd has a separate microSD card slot. Users can insert two SIM cards and one microSD card simultaneously. The camera setup includes a 12-megapixel rear camera, with dual autofocus pixels, 4K video recording, an f/1.7 aperture, and dual-LED flash.
On the front, G5 Plus sports a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a wide-angle lens. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. The Moto G5 Plus battery capacity is 3000mAh. It is non-removable, and the company is touting TurboPower charging will provide six hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.

With the seamless pure Android experience powered by good hardware, camera, battery and software goodies, the Moto G5 Plus is trying to position itself as the budget Google Pixel smartphone—the best of Google with the best of hardware.
Having said that the Moto G5 Plus (4GB RAM/32GB ROM) feels a bit expensive for the price of Rs 16,999.
