ASX-listed Internet of Things outfit Quantify has appointed software pioneer and Microsoft veteran Alan Boyd to its advisory board as it looks to get its smart home devices into China.
Mr Boyd, who served as both head of acquisitions and the first product development manager at Microsoft, was responsible for the development of products such as Microsoft Word, Windows and Excel. More recently, he co-founded SmartCity Software, the first Chinese software company related to building and operating smart cities.
Perth-based Quantify listed in March and is in discussions for its flagship Q Device, which gathers data about a particular room or area and actively adjusts its power consumption, to be used in China’s Smart City development in Rizhao and in other Chinese building projects.
“Alan’s appointment will see us kick off the next stage of our growth, including the rolling out of our revolutionary IoT technology to smart city developments in China,” Quantify founder and managing director Mark Lapins said.
