LG K10 2017 Review: The Best of LG Under Rs 15,000?

LG K10 (2017) edition was launched at a price of Rs 13,990 and it is essentially an upgrade to the LG K10 that was launched in 2016. This year’s K10 also comes bundled with 112 SOS panic button, the national emergency number.

The K10 features a 5.3-inch 720p display and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 SoC with 2GB RAM.

A 2800mAh battery powers the device and it and runs Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and supports 4G VoLTE. The rear of the smartphone also houses a fingerprint sensor and 13MP primary camera. At the front is a 5MP wide-angle snapper. The K10 has 16GB of in-built storage, which can be expanded by up to 2TB via a microSD card.

LG K10, which is the first phone that comes with an 112 panic button is definitely an effective tool for the safety of women. But is that all you should look out for on the device? Read on to find out.

The 120 degree wide-angle on the front snapper is capable of capturing pretty impressive images. The Android 7.0 Nougat along with LG’s proprietary custom UI is user-friendly and even first-time Android users would not find it much difficult to get accustomed to the device. The light form factor of the LG K10 is another great attribute and the device is ergonomic and easy to operate with one hand.

Another good thing is the presence of a removable 2800mAh battery in the times when unibody smartphones are a rage. Those dependent on dual SIM phones should know that LG K10 supports two nano SIM cards and a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding the 16GB inbuilt memory to up to 2TB.

The smartphone did not heat up during YouTube streaming and chatting on WhatsApp messenger and browsing the internet simultaneously, which is pretty good considering the fact that LG K10 is powered by a modest MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor.

The 2800mAh battery provided enough juice to last one day on normal usage and web browsing on 4G.

At Rs 13,990 the LG K10 is a tad bit expensive for the package that it offers. Also, the all-plastic body of the K10 with a brushed metal finish competes with many all-metal smartphones in the sub-Rs 10K segment, which is not so great.

The rear camera is capable of good macro shots but other pictures easily lost colour accuracy even in daytime.

Also, the display on the K10 is not great when compared to the likes of its Chinese competitors such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.

The 2017 edition LG K10 is a decent smartphone when it comes to handling day to day tasks with some really good ergonomics and a light form factor. LG despite being a legacy brand has, however, competition from Chinese rivals that have only grown stronger over time.
