Emerald City: Ken Weiss sells Double Bay home for $14m

Ken Weiss, brother of legendary fashionista Peter Weiss, has downsized, selling his Double Bay 1930s style home in Beach Street for about $14m through Michael Finger,of Ray White Double Bay. Finger last sold the art deco home, with Double Bay’s only private jetty, for $1.225m 30 years ago. The two-level house has four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a level lawn leading down to a stunning white sand beach. Finger says the house was on the market for just six days but would not be drawn on the buyer’s identity saying it was a “local Aussie”.

Jamberoo jump

Builder Rick Smith and his wife Shani have put an asking price of $2.785m on their Christmas River estate fronting Jerrara Road, Jamberoo on the NSW south coast. Elders Real Estate agent Vivienne Marris is marketing the seven-bedroom property. Smith is moving his family of eight children to 20ha about 2km west of Jamberoo. The Smiths bought the property 11 years ago, knocking over two project homes. “It was deliberately made to look like we had been there for 100 years, it was our dream home,” Rick says.

Leplastrier design

A stunning terrace designed by architect Richard Leplastrier at Renny Street, Paddington, is about to hit the market through The Agency’s Ben Collier. Price expectations range from $2.5m to $2.75m for the house which has an 8m frontage.
